How It All Started
Jacqueline Gerdne is an award-winning independent writer, director, and cinematographer currently based in Los Angeles. She is a British Film Institute Film Academy alumni, RespectAbility’s Entertainment Lab alumni, and has a B.A. in Film and Television production from UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. As a Chinese-Swedish transnational and transracial adoptee, her passion is to broaden representation as she never saw herself represented on screen growing up as a minority in a white suburb. Jacqueline infuses her scripts with real-life experiences, exploring mixed cultural identities, disabilities, and unconventional family dynamics through character-driven storytelling.
